Creative brief: My client is an entrepreneur who owns a networking application targeting college students. The goal was to persuade readers to download the application and engage with the developers by giving feedback through the application's interface.
Objective: My client wanted me to write a captivating summary post that positions his application as an effective solution for university students who are currently struggling to live out their university experience due to strict social distancing laws.

Today, unique circumstances threaten to undermine your student life, and we need to work together to fix it.
The ugly truth about COVID-19.
Today, we face strict social distancing laws that limit our ability as students, to interact with professors and, more importantly, colleagues.
Picture the anticipation of coming back from your summer vacation, full of hope and excitement at the prospect of finally experiencing university during the fall semester. Of finally living out that wonderful chapter in your life that everyone told you was the greatest time of their lives, only to find yourself compelled to go straight to your residence, lock your doors, and remain in quarantine for 14 days.
You’re stuck for what feels like an eternity, just itching to go outside and do something. The fear of missing out haunts you every day as your mandatory, self-imposed quarantine slowly drags on, while you count down the days towards liberation.
Quarantine ends.
The day finally arrives and you’re now free to leave your residence and go outside! As you walk around university, you quickly discover that campus isn’t the dynamic, vibrant environment you expected it to be. Hallways are empty, classrooms are vacant, and courses are virtual. You feel disappointed and misled. Your expectations are shattered. This can’t be university…can it?
We understand your frustration more than anyone, and we’ve teamed up with other students from Concordia and McGill to revamp your university experience!

You can still experience the student life you’ve always dreamt of. Blinko focuses on connecting you with live and upcoming events by showing you what’s hot in your area. It transforms a dull, events calendar into a lively, interactive platform that helps you mingle with other students. We’ve compiled a TON of university events onto Blinko's interactive calendar.
Our location tagging feature detects when people are physically at an event, which then, automatically signs them in as guests. Once people leave the event, they’re automatically signed off.
This allows Blinko to provide you with precise information on how many people are at an event at any given moment. You’ll get an accurate measure of how hot an event is by instantly identifying what it’s all about, the number of people present, and most importantly, who is present.
While Facebook and Instagram are useful for sharing content with a circle of people you already know, Blinko's emphasis is on introducing you to NEW people.
